Overview

Why did you want to lose weight?

I was really unhappy with myself and my body. Whenever I saw pictures of myself, I immediately felt like crying. What I saw when I looked in the mirror disgusted me.

I had already tried several other diets, but nothing helped. The worst part was that my boyfriend would always tease me and I was never able to feel like a sexy and attractive woman.

"Thanks to YAZIO, I've gotten to know myself and my body again and it's just indescribable."

A friend of mine felt the same way and so we tried to lose weight together. Exercise didn't do anything. At some point, my friend came across the YAZIO app. I was skeptical at first. I thought calorie counting wouldn't help at all. Nevertheless, I downloaded YAZIO and took a closer look. I found it more and more interesting and decided to try it out. After a little over a week, I could already see results.

It was unbelievable!

What did you want to accomplish on your journey?

My goal was to prove to myself that I could do it. Of course, I also wanted to prove to the people that had mocked me or didn't believe in me that I could do it. I wanted to love myself again, to like looking in the mirror again, and to feel comfortable in my own skin.

How did you reach your goals?

At first, I didn't do any exercise and focused 100% on my diet. It's also important to note that when I want something, I give my all, without exception.

For me, it was important to drink at least 2 liters of water per day. That was particularly difficult for me at first, but I noticed that when I drank a lot of water, it kickstarted digestion. In addition, when I ate, I would always eat the protein portion, like meat or fish, first. If I was still hungry after that, I would eat the sides. Usually I wasn't hungry enough for them.

Susanne’s Tips

If the scale sometimes shows a bigger number than the day before, simply keep going and never give up
Use old pictures to motivate yourself
Believe in yourself
Always remember you're doing this for yourself

The more weight I lost, the more comfortable I felt and the more exercise I did. These days, I do at least one hour of exercise a day, even if that's just taking a walk.

How did YAZIO help you?

YAZIO really helped me to control myself and my diet. By logging my foods and activities, and getting notifications from the app, I always had an exact overview of how much I could still eat. Thanks to YAZIO, I've gotten to know myself and my body again and it's just indescribable. I have more confidence then I've ever had before.

Did you have setbacks?

I definitely had setbacks! My personal problem was that my boyfriend didn't support me at all. Even worse, he's Italian and a cook. You can imagine that there were always a lot of delicious things around. After days like that, the results on the scale weren't so great. I always heard the same comments like "See, you can't do it," but that's exactly what strengthened me and helped me to keep going.

I always looked at older pictures of myself and knew that I didn't want to be like that anymore. My friend that I started using YAZIO with also helped push me.

What advice do you have for other users?

You really have to want it. You can't use excuses like "yeah, but we've been invited to go out and eat" or something similar. If you really want it, you can do it. If the scale shows more weight on one day, you just have to keep going and never give up.

You have to remember that you're doing it for youself! You will eventually develop your own style and rhythm. Like I said, for me, it always helped to look at old photos. That reminded me everytime how I never wanted to look again. I thought about all of the great clothes that I would be able to wear after losing the weight. The positive feedback that I got was also a big motivator- simply indescribable and affirming.

What are your future goals?

I decided that, for me, continuing without YAZIO isn't possible. As long as I can use my phone, YAZIO will be a lifelong companion- and I'll use it with complete trust and pride!

Why do you want to tell your story?

I hope that I can help move people to find themselves and see how much they can accomplish. Nobody should be unhappy because of their figure. You most certainly can't put too much pressure on yourself and get in your own way. As long as you have the will to do it, you will! My motto is: "In the end, everything will fall into place."
