Why did you want to gain weight?

My motivation for gaining weight was that my boyfriend and I wanted to have a family in the near future, and being so underweight, it wouldn't have been possible.

In addition, I wanted to be more active again, live a healthy life, and be able to pursue a career again. For a period of time, I wasn't able to work. I was dangerously unhealthy and didn't have any energy. I was so ashamed of the way I looked and didn't want to go out in public. I also saw my best friend die because of anorexia and I promised her that I would keep fighting.

What did you want to accomplish on your journey?

My goal is to get healthy, to no longer be underweight and to gain another 30 lb. I hope to be fit again so that I can improve my daily life. I also want to feel comfortable with myself again and not be so ashamed to be in front of other people.

How did you reach your goals?

I calculated my basal metabolism with YAZIO and my active metabolic rate with my fitness tracker. My Garmin and YAZIO are compatible, so the totals were automatically calculated and shown in the YAZIO app.

It was really difficult and unthinkable for me to have to eat more than 1,000 calories a day. In order to put on weight, I set a goal to eat 100 additional calories each week. To avoid brooding over what I had eaten, something that's normal for anorexic people, I logged everything in the app. This helped me to calm my fears and insecurities about putting the weight on too fast and the app was my confirmation.

I went at my own speed for more than a year so that I had more time to accept my "new" pounds. I gained 35 lb.

I feel good today. I'm more confident and full of new energy. For a long time, I had foods that I wouldn't allow myself to eat. With YAZIO, I realized that I can eat these, that my body has earned them and that it can utilize them well. :)

I used to have no idea about the nutrients in different foods, until I started using YAZIO. Now, I'm a professional. :) Thanks to YAZIO, I'm so much more confident. In the evenings, I can lay in bed without thinking about whether I ate too much and I can look forward to breakfast!! A year ago, that wouldn't have been possible. I was scared of every meal.

How did YAZIO help you?

Since I was at several clinics that specialized in eating disorders, I knew exactly how to tackle this fight. I was just lacking the courage, the strength and the will. Did you have setbacks?

I had a lot of setbacks, but after a short period of time, I would put them behind me and keep going as best I could. The more accomplishments I had, the more I had to hold on to. I always had my eye on the prize and kept going in that direction.

What advice do you have for other users?

Keep looking forward, even during difficult times or setbacks, and continue to reach for your goal. You can always look back and remember how it felt when you were just getting started... to internatlize all of your small accomplishments and not let a few bad days get in the way.

What are your future goals?

Depending on how I feel, I'd like to put on a few more pounds- without stress and keeping my eye on my goal. I will continue using YAZIO to maintain my confidence.

Why do you want to tell your story?

I would like those who are in my situation to have the courage to use YAZIO in order to lead a healthier life. He or she should set daily goals with YAZIO to help improve self-confidence. After time, this will help to eliminate the fear of gaining "too much" weight.
