Overview

Why did you want to lose weight?

I’ve always been very self-conscious about my body. What I think about myself and how I present myself to others has always had a very big impact on my self-esteem and well-being. I’ve always been quite sporty and even participated in competitions, but when I stopped, I started to gain weight while rapidly losing muscle.

I realized something needed to change sometime in April 2018, when I couldn’t even bear to look at myself in the mirror anymore. That’s when I decided to tackle the problem at its roots and do my best to have the body I always dreamed of.

What did you want to accomplish on your journey?

As mentioned previously, my goal was to sculpt my body and get an athletic physique, to become a fit man that I could be proud of. I just really wanted to gain back some self-confidence...To succeed, I had to lose quite a bit of weight. At first, I had decided to lose 22 lb, but I ended up losing 44 lb in total, while building some muscle and toning my body.

Today, my goal is to maintain my progress, while still going to the gym to bulk up. Ideally, I’d like to be between 165 lb and 175 lb, while maintaining my muscle mass and without restricting my diet to avoid any frustrations and stress-binging.

How did you reach your goals?

I tried various strategies, namely intermittent fasting, a strict workout regimen (HIIT focused) everyday except on Sundays, and a healthier diet with a calorie deficit (that I was able to keep up thanks to YAZIO).

Brice’s Tips

Keep trying and never give up
Set small, realistic goals
Learn about nutrition so you can better understand it

I don’t really need any cheat meals/days because eating better and healthier food has made me feel fantastic. I do cheat from time to time though, mainly for ‘social’ reasons, like when I go out with friends and family for example, but I never get tempted when I’m frustrated.

How did YAZIO help you?

Apps like YAZIO can help you keep an eye on whatever you’re eating. You can control your weight gain/loss with a bit of discipline. YAZIO is great for this as it’s really easy to use, which reduces the risks of being frustrated by your new lifestyle. Thanks to all of this, I never left anything to chance and this feeling of being in control is super motivating.

Did you have setbacks?

I didn’t experience any setbacks, no. As far as I’m concerned, I’d say that everything went according to my plan. I did, however, suffer from bad side effects because my calorie deficit was a little too high, which was totally my fault. I wouldn’t advise anyone to do the same! I ate so little that I was always cold and tired, and my sex drive plummeted... By being patient, your weight loss process can be a bit easier as you’ll have more energy without suffering from side effects.

What advice do you have for other users?

You can’t give up. Unfortunately, I often see people post on Facebook to complain that they’re not making progress despite the fact that they’re doing everything right, and so they end up throwing in the towel halfway through their journey. You really have to be strict with yourself. I do think to succeed you have to enjoy eating healthier food.

Thanks to YAZIO and my personal goal to eat a more balanced diet, I even found a new interest in cooking. It’s still a bit new to me, but I really like it, and to be honest, I never enjoyed eating as much as when I started to eat better food. If you want to succeed, you need to start enjoying life!

What are your future goals?

My goal is to maintain this new healthy lifestyle to stay fit, both mentally and physically. This is what helps me feel good in my own skin, after all!

Why do you want to tell your story?

It’s important for me to share my story because I am really proud of my progress. It took a lot of effort for me to lose that much weight, so I can only be satisfied with my results. I also want to let everybody know that nothing is impossible. I’ve never been a huge fan of saying things like ‘anything is possible as long as you really want it’ or ‘you have to believe in your dreams’, ‘never give up’, etc.

I just want to show that if a normal person like me made it, then anyone can make it. You just need to be consistent and smart about it. In fact, I’m pretty sure such a mindset is essential to achieve anything in life!
