Why did you want to lose weight?
I've had trouble controlling my appetite since I was a kid. I heard over and over again that I was fat, that I shouldn't eat so much and I was always being watched. Food was locked away from me. My family only wanted the best for me, that I wouldn't keep gaining weight and end up unhappy, but it just led to eating in secret. Tons of sweets, desserts, bread and anything I could find. I just kept gaining weight.
I never really had a problem with it until I reached puberty. Then something in me changed. I noticed how people would talk negatively about me, calling me fat or ugly. My happy world started collapsing around me.
"There had to be a different, better and long-term way and I found that with YAZIO."
I came to the conclusion that I had to change something, but I had no idea how. I tried starvation diets, followed by binge eating. I didn't see any results. There had to be a different, better and long-term way and I found that with YAZIO.
What did you want to accomplish on your journey?
I wanted to finally feel good about my body, to not have to hide myself and to feel more self-confident. I don't have a certain goal weight anymore. For me, my body says more than a number on the scale. My wish was to be healthy, happy and have a normal relationship with food, without starving myself or overeating.
How did you reach your goals?
I exercised a lot. Long before I lost the weight, I wanted to sign up for a gym membership. Unfortunately, I waited way too long, scared that I would quit after a few weeks, that I would be wasting money and that I would try to protect myself from the looks of others because I just hated my body at that point.
But those who don't take a risk can't win. Signing up for the gym was my first step in the right direction.
How did YAZIO help you?
With YAZIO, I learned to control my eating patterns. You can only do so much exercise. To reach your goals in the long term, a bigger part is and will always be a healthy diet.
At first I only counted calories. Then I started paying attention to every single food item and learned more about macros. My calorie deficit helped me understand how many carbs and how much fat and protein my body needs. At first, it was strange for me and time consuming, but I quickly realized that it was actually a lot of fun to pay so much attention to it. The results didn't take long, and I didn't have to go hungry.
Did you have setbacks?
I didn't have a lot of setbacks. When I started to lose hope that I would ever be thin, I reminded myself how far I had already come.
What advice do you have for other users?
Even if you think you're not making progress, whether it be on the scale or when taking measurements, and regardless how often you think about giving up, remember that you can only win if you fight for it!
Maybe a short break will help. Try to maintain your weight during that time and save some energy to continue your journey. If you want to treat yourself to something, like a pizza, try to make a healthier alternative at home. Not only will it distract you, it's fun and usually tastes better than the original.
What are your future goals?
I would like to lose another 10 lb with YAZIO, without stress or pressure, so that I can maintain my weight afterwards.
Why do you want to tell your story?
Every single person out there is important! This is the reason I want to share my story. Maybe you can identify with me a little bit, but are still on the fence and feeling hopeless, not sure if YAZIO is something for you.
All I can say is that it changed my life for the better. And maybe it can change yours soon, too!
