What do you find most difficult about reaching your goal?

Giving up my favorite food

Why did you want to lose weight?

I just felt so uncomfortable in the summer. Shorts were never an option and running around with the kids wasn't possible.

At some point, it was clear to me I couldn't keep living like this and had to change something. My goal was to wear what I wanted without feeling ashamed.

What did you want to accomplish on your journey?

My goal was to lose 45 pounds and gain muscle in a year. I wanted to get my body fat percentage down to 20 percent. I just wanted to be able to look in the mirror and feel good about myself.

How did you reach your goals?

I tried a lot of different diets in the past: Low-carb, high-carb and even low-fat. I never saw any of them through, they just weren't right for me.

Melina’s Tips

Avoid cravings by getting plenty of sleep.
Walk 10,000 steps per day.
Make a grocery list when shopping.
I personally avoid drinking any liquid calories, like soda or juice. This saves calories.

Then I discovered YAZIO and started weighing, tracking and simply keeping an eye on what I was eating. Over time, I actually enjoyed it and things just clicked, without me even really noticing.

How did YAZIO help you?

YAZIO allowed me to discover a ton of delicious dishes. I can adapt some recipes to my calorie goal and they have something for everyone. This made things easier for me and I didn't have to spend a lot of time looking for recipes that fit my goal. No, not at all because the journey was just really fun and I still enjoy tracking as much as I did before.

What advice do you have for other users?

Every diet can feel like a rollercoaster ride. Important is to stick to it and not lose sight of your goal. As long as you give your all and keep going, you'll succeed.

What are your future goals?

Now it's all about building muscle. I managed to lose a lot more weight than I originally set out to do and have never been happier with my weight. Pregnancy made my skin "softer" and I want to tighten it back up with strength training. YAZIO can surely help me reach this goal as it can be adapted to my particular goals and calories.

Why do you want to tell your story?

I want to share my story with others to show them that anyone can do it, even if you have kids, housework to do and are working. A lot of people say there isn't enough time for it. If you really want something, you'll find the time. YAZIO makes it super easy!
