What do you find most difficult about reaching your goal?

Why did you want to lose weight?

Because I was barely 30 and already felt like health issues were preventing me from keeping up with my 1-year-old son (my knees started to hurt, I was out of breath walking upstairs, etc.).

Nothing great is created overnight.

Because I didn't feel comfortable with my physical appearance and because I'm currently preparing some physical tests I have to pass in order to get the job I want.

What did you want to accomplish on your journey?

I've managed to lose almost all the excess fat I had, my self-esteem has increased exponentially and I'm already at the level I need to be at for the physical tests.

How did you reach your goals?

I haven't followed any specific or "miracle" diet. I've just learned to eat healthier and in the quantities I need.

Nerea’s Tips

  • It's not about avoiding certain foods but learning to eat everything in the right proportions.
  • Do some cardio, but prioritize strength training.
  • Stay hydrated and rest, accept and understand the amount of calories and macros each of us needs, and be patient.

At first I "skipped the diet" on a specific day of the week, but I've been following the Pareto principle for some time now (at least 80 percent of healthy food and good habits and, at most, 20 percent of less healthy things). I've also added exercise to my daily routine 4 to 6 times a week, depending on the rest of my obligations.

How did Yazio help you?

Thanks to the app, among other things, I've learned what each food provides for me and how to meet all my food requirements.

Did you have setbacks?

Every long-term process has ups and downs, but in general, as I didn't do it in a restrictive way, it was quite easy for me to adopt good habits.

What advice do you have for other users?

Everything I mentioned before and also that motivation is something that pushes us to start and it's great to have. However, what makes us reach our goals is being consistent and having discipline when motivation falters.

What are your future goals?

I want to maintain my habits, continue to improve physically and mentally, get the job that motivated me to start all this, and enjoy life to its fullest.

Why do you want to tell your story?

Because I'm sure there are a lot of people who think they can't change something that's totally ingrained in their life. However, I also know that if I managed to do it, anyone can do it. And I don't want to just tell people, I love showing it because a picture is worth a thousand words.
