What do you find most difficult about reaching your goal?

Why did you want to lose weight?

To be healthier, to be fitter, to enjoy moments with my family that I was too tired to enjoy before. Let me start by saying that I thought I knew how to lose weight without any help. I thought I didn't need anyone telling me what to do. I would lose a few pounds, stop and then gain twice as many back.

When I finally decided to accept help, my family recommended the YAZIO app to me. The app itself is really great and the motivational Facebook group is so helpful.

What did you want to accomplish on your journey?

I'm just 7 pounds away from reaching my goal, but in general, I definitely wanted to improve my confidence and feel better in my own skin.

How did you reach your goals?

YAZIO has been a great tool for my success and my entire family was also very motivating, but I think my mindset helped me the most.

Find a nutritional plan that suits your lifestyle.
See your weight-loss process as a long-term, healthy way of life.
Believe in the process and don’t lose motivation when you don’t see fast results. There is a lot to learn when it comes to losing weight and living healthily.

I followed keto and low-carb diets and I was exercising at least 30 minutes a day, even on the weekends. First walking, then jogging and then running. I learned about calories, macros and nutrient ratios. I went from 306 to 226 pounds in 5 months by following a low-carb diet. I did all of this with the mindset that things were going to take time and that I was going to stay consistent but not push myself too hard! I believed in the process and, from a nutritional standpoint, felt good and enjoyed what I was doing for the first time!

Did you have setbacks?

We're all humans and, yes, sometimes I had days when I wanted to quit. That's normal. But I looked for ways to encourage myself and reminded myself of the things that motivated me to start this health journey in the first place.

What advice do you have for other users?

Take time to read and learn how everything works. Research all the pros and cons of diets before starting them and see what works best for you. And when you need it, there's always someone who can help!

What are your future goals?

My goals are to stay healthy, maintain my weight and tone up a bit.

Why do you want to tell your story?

It's the right thing to do. It felt great to get encouragement from people I didn't even know when I needed it and to see other people succeed as well. Support, suggestions and information from other people definitely helped me on my journey. So, I hope I can be that helpful for other people, too!
