Why did you want to lose weight?
It was a bunch of small things in my everyday life that made me want to lose weight. When I played with my kids on the floor, I had difficulty and knee pain when getting up.
"We often overestimate what can be done in six weeks, but underestimate what can be achieved in six months!"
I would get tired and exhausted really fast when playing. When we went swimming, the weightlessness of the water was so liberating. However, getting out of the pool made gravity feel even heavier with every step. Everyday life showed me how trapped I was in my own body.
What did you want to accomplish on your journey?
I wanted to find myself again, get back to my old figure and feel good in my own skin. I wanted to be a good role model for my kids and be able to play, horse around and laugh without my body holding me back. I also wanted to be able to wear clothes I liked again and not just what fit.
How did you reach your goals?
I increased my daily exercise, for example, walking 10,000 steps a day. I also eat fruit, vegetables and plenty of protein with every meal.
I replaced highly-processed sugar with things like honey, agave nectar, coconut sugar and erythritol. I also needed to learn to have patience with myself. In the end, it was crucial that I stay within a calorie deficit to lose weight.
How did YAZIO help you?
YAZIO helped me by showing me exactly how much I had eaten and what my deficit was. I connected the app with my fitness watch and could keep an eye on my intake and burned calories. When I ate more, I could exercise more and vice versa. If I exercised less, I could simply eat less. You have to be honest with yourself and really weigh and track everything.
Did you have setbacks?
I had setbacks from time to time. You can never lose sight of your goal. On such a long journey, it's important to be patient with yourself. If you have a bad day, simply let it go and start fresh tomorrow. Maybe you'll reach your goal two or three days later, but you'll still reach it.
What advice do you have for other users?
Be patient with yourself and learn more about food. You need volume to feel full, preferably with fewer calories. That's why you should always add fruits and vegetables to your meals. They fill your stomach but contain few calories. Be careful with fruit. I would suggest eating things like berries. They have a lot of vitamins but not many calories. Also, be sure to consume plenty of protein. It will keep you feeling fuller for longer and your body will burn other energy before it uses the protein. In addition, your body will burn fat and not muscle mass.
What are your future goals?
I definitely want to get below 155 pounds and YAZIO will be a big help.
Why do you want to tell your story?
I want to encourage people and motivate them to stick with it because it's worth it. Never lose sight of your goal, and believe in yourself and your inner strength. I tried all sorts of diets, invested so much money and, actually, there's a much easier way. Everyone should see that losing weight doesn't have to be complicated and difficult. You just have to know how and that means: counting calories with YAZIO. That's my miracle cure!
