Why did you want to lose weight?

After my pregnancy, I stopped taking care of myself as a woman. I never looked at myself in the mirror and I lived in denial. I didn't recognize myself anymore and didn't accept all the changes my body had gone through. It was a long process. I had to learn to love myself and it was this desire to be self-confident that gave me the motivation and strength to lose weight.

"Determination is the key to success. The hardest part is getting started. The rest quickly becomes a habit."

I didn't recognize myself in my body anymore. I gained 55 pounds after giving birth. I didn't feel comfortable dressing the way I wanted to and I felt more and more tired because I wasn't eating healthily and I wasn't exercising. My body wasn't reflecting who I am. One day, I had enough. I couldn't go on living like this. I stood in front of my mirror and realized that I had to do something about it.
I tried several strict diets where I would completely cut out bread, pasta and rice, and I wasn't getting enough nutrients. I would give up before I finished the first week and it just fueled this discomfort I had with my body.

What did you want to accomplish on your journey?

I wanted to lose between 55 and 65 pounds. I knew I had to be patient and extremely motivated. I also wanted to be more energetic and active and not already be exhausted by early afternoon. Above all, I wanted to love myself and take care of the body that was going to carry me through my life.

How did you reach your goals?

Thanks to YAZIO, I started counting my calories and paying attention to my macros. I started to rebalance my diet. I was eating healthily and it started to show on my body. I started to lose weight without having to deprive myself and by allowing myself one fun meal a week.

Rim’s Tips

I think that patience plays a very important role in weight loss and is an essential part of motivating ourselves and reminding ourselves of our goals and why we want to lose weight.
A lot of people think you have to follow a strict diet to lose weight, which is totally wrong. A cheat meal every now and then will not stop you from losing weight.
I recommend exercising whenever you have the opportunity, even if it's just going for a walk or going to the store on foot instead of taking public transportation.
Try lots of new recipes to motivate yourself.

I also understood the importance of exercise. Having a toddler, I had to work out from home and, thanks to YouTube videos, I started a strength training program 4 to 5 times a week that has become a passion today.

Did you have setbacks?

Yes, I have had periods where I was losing less fat and I felt like I wasn't making progress. I've also had stressful periods that made me break down, but the key is to pick yourself up after each obstacle and believe in yourself by staying focused on your goals.

What advice do you have for other users?

The road may seem long but don't give up. Keep your goals in mind and focus on each day in front of you.

What are your future goals?

I want to continue to eat healthily and build muscle. I want to maintain the energy level that the healthy lifestyle I've chosen gives me.

Why do you want to tell your story?

Because I thought I was never going to achieve my goal. When you tell yourself you want to lose 55 pounds, you think it's impossible. The hardest part was making the decision to change and staying motivated. The rest becomes habit. If I could do it, others can too.
