Not all non-alcoholic drinks and beverages are bad for you, but many of them contain unhealthy ingredients or a lack of healthy ingredients. Refer to the calorie calculator for your favorite non-alcoholic drinks & beverages for the calories and nutritional information.

Empty Calories

Non-alcoholic drinks typically include things like soft drinks, teas, and flavored beverages. While some of these beverages may contain certain vitamins and minerals, many of them (soft drinks, specifically) provide very little nutritional value. Soft drinks tend to be high in calories and carbohydrates but low in both fats and proteins which means they are not a good source of balanced nutrition.

Artificial Sweeteners

Many non-alcoholic drinks and beverages, especially diet drinks, are sweetened with artificial sweeteners. Artificial sweeteners are low in or devoid of calories but they have the potential to cause a number of health problems. These sweeteners are often derived from chemicals which can lead to increased food cravings, hormonal imbalance, depression, abdominal pain, and memory loss.
While many non-alcoholic drinks and beverages do little for your health and wellness, some of them do provide certain health benefits. Refer to the calorie counter for your favorite non-alcoholic drinks and beverages for nutritional information.

Benefits of Non-Alcoholic Beer

Non-alcoholic beer contains about 175 calories per 16-ounce serving and about 156 of those calories come from carbohydrate – there is also trace amounts of protein and a very small amount of fat. The benefits of non-alcoholic beer do not come from these nutrients, however. Non-alcoholic beer contains about 10% of your daily recommended intake for several B vitamins. Additionally, non-alcoholic beer may help you to fall asleep faster and to sleep more soundly.

Benefits of Tea

Tea, in its many forms, is a popular non-alcoholic drink and it can provide many significant health benefits. Green tea, for example, contains antioxidants called catechins which help to boost exercise performance and increase your body’s ability to burn fat for fuel. These same antioxidants (and others) may also help to protect your body against certain types of cancer. Drinking tea has also been linked to reduced risk for heart disease, Parkinson’s disease, and other forms of neurodegenerative disease.
